Before Zeke's passing we received a lovely pack from Bark Butter. The balm pack. Containing a 50g tin of healing and repair balm, a 10g stick of healing and repair balm, and a charcoal dog biscuit, which Zeke absolutely loved. The balm pack is perfect for any doggo suffering from a dry nose, dry paws, or dry skin. The balms smell delicious and are not only toxin free, but also safe for your fur babies to lick.
I used the balm stick on Zeke's dry nose for around a week. I noticed a difference within a day or two. Zeke allowed me to apply the balm to his nose using the stick, without any fuss. But of course he also had to give it a good lick. It didn't irritate his skin, and the difference it made on his dry nose and dry skin around his nose was very noticeable. His nose became softer and the little dry bumps disappeared. It also helped with his skins pigments.
The day of Zeke's passing I took a few minutes to rub some healing and repair balm into Zeke's paws, using the healing and repair balm in the tin. I scooped out a small bit at a time and warmed it between my thumb and finger tips to soften. Then rubbed it into Zeke's paws. Zeke seemed to really relax and enjoy the pampering. His paws were very dry and cracked, but they softened immediately. The sharpness of the dry skin on Zeke's paw pads softened and became smooth.
The balm is sticky, and things like fluff, dirt, and sand will stick to it, but it is super moisturising and doesn't stain. It also smells absolutely delicious. The small stick and tin go a long way and I could have been a little less frivolous with the balm. Less is more.
