Loch Sport

Updated: Oct 23, 2018

Loch Sport is a coastal town, located on the peninsula between the famous 90 Mile Beach, and Lake Reeve. Home to bustling wildlife it's not uncommon to find a mob of Kangaroos on your front lawn (along with what we like to call "Kanga poop!").

Kanga poop aside, Loch Sport is our "Go to" destination. Winter being our favourite time to relax and take in the sights. Collecting wood for the fire, and enjoying a hot chocolate on the balcony over looking the water, Loch sport is picture perfect. With captivating wildlife calls, and vibrant bushland, Loch Sport has a way of putting your mind at ease, rain or shine. Maybe its the water views, or perhaps the fact that in winter you're likely to head off on an adventure and have the lake to yourself.  Walks along the Lake Reeve walking trail, adventures at the beach, storms and stunning sunsets over the Lake are just a few of our favourite things. Oh and of course no trip is complete without a stop at the Bakery. You must try their jam donuts, absolutely delectable. Make your way to the charming little spot called Sperm Whale Head, enjoy a picnic lunch or follow the trail into the National Park. (sorry doggo's you'll have to sit this one out)

Come summer time Lake Reeve comes alive. Sail boats glistening in the sun, the rev of jet ski's, and the laughter of children splashing in the shallows. Make your way over to the surf beach, you'll find two different access points. Take the short trip to first beach, or the longer scenic route to second beach. Either one keep an eye out for the Loch Ness Monster as you make your way across the causeway (local joke). Down on the golden sands, you'll find keen anglers waiting on the tug of the line, with gummy sharks and flat head being most popular. Sunbaker's, swimmers and surfers, the 90 Mile Beach is a strip of paradise, (just remember the aero guard).
